Richard Thayer D.D.S.
“Dr. Rick” has been practicing in Petaluma since 1973. He has helped the practice expand from two doctors to four with a staff dedicated to providing quality, modern dental care with a family and “person oriented” feel. He is well versed in all aspects of general dentistry and has a special interest in TMJ issues.

He was raised in Palo Alto, California, attended U.C. Santa Barbara for four years, and received his dental training and degree from U.C. San Francisco in 1971. He spent his next two years with the Navy improving his skills and receiving further training, before he and his wife, Gale, came to Sonoma County and began raising their family.

It is an open secret that he enjoys playing golf, but he also has interests that include travel, reading, and photography.

David Straub D.D.S.
Dr. Straub was born and raised in Southern California. He attended U.C. Santa Cruz and received his B.A. in History and B.S. in Earth Science in 1973. Dr. Straub graduated from U.C. San Francisco Dental School in 1984, and was Assistant Clinical Professor there until 1989 when he decided to devote his full attention to patients at Hillcrest. He enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, especially implant restorations, mini implantology, and oral conscious sedation.

Dr. Straub is married to Melinda, an oncology nurse. They have three grown children. Dr. Straub represents the fifth generation of dentists in his family. He enjoys golf, backpacking, gardening, and of course, dentistry.
Leah DeBerardinis D.D.S.
“Dr. Leah” was born and raised in Sebastopol, California. She received a degree in Neuroscience and Animal Physiology from U.C. San Diego, and graduated from U.C. San Francisco Dental School in 2003. She moved to Petaluma and joined the Hillcrest family, where she prides herself on her sensitive, caring chairside manner.

Dr. Leah is dedicated to providing comprehensive dental care to every patient. While she is accomplished in all aspects of general dentistry, she enjoys furthering her education in the areas of implant dentistry and oral conscious sedation.

Outside of the office, Dr. Leah enjoys the outdoors, pilates, skiing, cooking, and “learning” the game of golf. She and her husband, Marc, look forward to raising their family in Sonoma County.
Steve Nagle D.D.S.
Dr. Nagle was born and raised in Sacramento, California. He went to California State University in Sacramento and on to University of the Pacific Dental School in San Francisco. He loves the bay area and moved to Petaluma and joined Hillcrest Dental Group in 1981. He is married with two children. He enjoys cooking, gardening, hiking, and whitewater rafting. He strives to offer high quality dentistry with a caring touch. He offers a wide array of dental services and stays current with frequent continuing education classes. “The patient always comes first with me,” and he tries to tailor treatment to a patient's specific needs.
